Training for Non-Registered Staff
Have you completed a health care qualification in the last 5
years? If not, you may be getting left behind.
Over the past few years, there has been a move to promote
qualifications for Caregivers and Community Support Workers.
Many facilities now require their staff to hold a minimum Level 3
and sometimes a Level 4 qualification.
If you wish to complete a level 4 qualification e.g. National
Certificate in Mental Health or Level 4 for Health Care Assistants,
you will need to approach a learning facility in your area e.g. MIT, CPIT, Blueprint, Wintec and many more.
If you wish to complete National Certificate in Health,
Disability and Aged Support (Core Competencies) - Level 3,
this can be done either through Geneva Health, or through your
local tertiary education facility.
Organisations such as WelTec receive TEC funding to provide Level 3
training in both Auckland and Wellington. Your choice of
provider will depend on such things as time available, ability to
attend classroom sessions, and funding.
If you are a current employee with Geneva Health, feel free to
contact Linda Rogers or Jude Deverall on 0800 GENEVA / 0800 436 382
who can assist you in making this decision.
