Funding
Funding for your care will usually depend on your personal
situation. Your GP can refer you for publically funded
assistance through one of the following services:
- Some services are managed and funded by District Health Boards
(DHBs) on behalf of the Ministry of Health
- Disability Support Services (DSS), part of the Ministry of
Health, is responsible for the planning and funding of disability
support services
- Community nursing services (also called district nursing) are
administered by DHBs and ACC
- Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) provides support
if you've been injured. Geneva Health Care is an ACC Contracted
Lead Provider of home based care - only one of four nationwide that
are contracted as suppliers of Home & Community Support
Services. This means that if you are covered by ACC for home
based care, or if you provide care for a family member who is
covered by ACC, then Geneva Health Care can provide the specialist
care and support you need.
If you are not eligible for public assistance, there are other
options available to you, for example;
- you can pay privately,
- you may be eligible for care to be paid for by another agency
e.g. another Government department, a charity or a health
foundation or society,
- if you hold private medical insurance, your insurer may pay for
home-based rehabilitation services and support.
If you have any questions about funding, please contact us for
more information.
How it works
1. By simply calling us, our experienced Consultants are then
able to discuss what your individual needs are.
2. We can also offer support and advice around what funding may
be available to you.
3. Your Geneva Health Care Consultant, discusses with you
about what care is required, and suitable times and days, and from
there we will arrange a suitable time to come out and complete your
service delivery plan face to face with you.
4. The next step is to arrange a homecare support worker to
begin. (Note in some circumstances we can arrange a meet and greet
with the Geneva Health Care Support Worker before the service
begins). All our home carers are rigorously vetted, and
police checked and have accessed to specialised training.
5. Depending on funding options, we will either bill your
directly or liaise with the appropriate agency e.g. ACC for
payment.
