Homecare - what is involved?
Become a Geneva Homecarer and enjoy the rewards of meeting and
interacting with people while you work. The homecare role
involves assisting and supporting people in their own homes while
they recover from an illness, surgery, or accident. This
is a critical role in fostering independence and recovery.
Home Help: Almost all assignments include
home help which includes domestic tasks such as the following:
- Routine cleaning, vacuuming & dusting
- Household Laundry
- Bed changing and Making
- Light meal preparation
- Shopping and outings
- Infant and child care
Personal Cares: Some assignments may
include assistance with a client's personal cares which includes
personal assistance such as the following:
- Mobility
- Getting up and going to bed
- Showering or bathing
- Dressing, shaving and hair care
Complex Healthcare: For more experienced and
especially trained caregivers, assignments are available with
clients requiring complex healthcare. These include high
level care such as:
- Transferring of clients with disabilities
- Assistance with bowel and bladder care
- Assistance with medication
All Clients have individualised support plans tailored to their
needs and as their Geneva Caregiver you will be in the unique
position of really being able to make a difference.
Assignments are always flexible, part time and close to home.
